Lip Blush Prep & Aftercare Guide to Long-Lasting Results
Aftercare is an especially important part of the treatment.
If you do not follow the advice given by your artist, some complications may emerge.
Steps:
Before The Procedure
Things You Should Avoid for at least 24 hours - BTP*: Alcohol, caffeine, Ibuprofen/Advil, Aspirin, Vitamin E, hair, skin, nail supplements, and fish oil supplements.
Stop using at least 1 month - BTP*: Retinol or vitamin A products, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and facials.
Avoid for 1 month - BTP*: Botox and filler around the lip area.
Stop using 2 weeks - BTP*: Avoid sun, tanning, and upper or lower lip waxing or threading.
1 week - BTP*: Avoid sun, tanning, and upper or lower lip waxing or threading.
After The Procedure
Day 1 - 2: Use a clean tissue every few hours to pick up clear fluid. Before bed, rinse dry lymph with lukewarm water if needed, pat dry, and apply aftercare.
Day 2 - 7: Lips may still be swollen. Keep the skin moist and do not let lips dry out. Continue applying aftercare throughout the day.
Remember: Do not pick dry lips. Do not apply anything besides approved aftercare. Touch-ups, if needed, can be done no sooner than 8 weeks after the initial appointment.
Important: Signs of infection may include redness, swelling, tenderness, red streaks, elevated temperature, or purulent drainage. Seek medical care if these symptoms appear.
Day 1-7 (or until scabs are gone) avoid:: Water on the PMU area aside from cleaning, Makeup, Sauna, Excessive sweating, Pools, Sunbathing or direct sun, Spicy food, Kissing
We Cannot Do PMU For Any Clients Who Are Or Have
Cold Sores: History of cold sores may require prescribed antiviral medication before treatment.
High Blood Pressure: Uncontrolled high blood pressure or mitral valve disorder.
Recent Botox: Botox in the past 4 weeks.
Under 18: Under 18 years of age.
Hyperpigmentation: Dark lips or tendency toward hyperpigmentation may require extra review.
HIV Or Hepatitis: Transmittable blood conditions such as HIV or hepatitis.
Hemophilia: Hemophilia.
Lidocaine: Allergy to anesthetic, makeup, or pigments.
Covid-19: Covid-19 vaccination timing may require waiting between doses and after the second shot.
Infections: Viral infections and/or diseases.
Cold, Flu: Currently sick with cold, flu, Covid-19, or similar illness.
Organ Transplant: History of organ transplant.
Skin Cancer: Active skin cancer.
Diabetic: Diabetes.
Psoriasis: Skin irritation or psoriasis near the treated area.
Keloids: Tendency toward keloids.
Steroids: Accutane or steroid use in the past year.
